We all have to deal with pain and suffering. Sometimes it’s
heavier than others. But no matter if we brought it on our ourselves, or our
enemies brought it on us, or even God somehow allowed it, there’s something you
need to know: A weapon in the hand of the enemy can become a tool in the hand
of God. The enemy wants to use your suffering to get you to distrust,
disbelief, and disobey God. But God wants the suffering to strengthen your
faith, to get you to trust and obey him. In this way, suffering stops being an
obstacle to holiness, and it becomes an opportunity for holiness. And more
intimacy with God now, and greater reward in eternity. The question is, who are
you going to let wield the weapon?
