This Is What I Sound Like

Well, here is a new feature at Voice of Vision. Over in our sidebar we will eventually have a new page that has our sermons on audio. For now you can hear the voice behind the blog by clicking the link below. Be careful not to turn your sound on too high, we can get a little fervent during the preaching...

10-21-2007 - Give It Up

I also want to give a shout out to Daniel, who I call a "friend of mine" during the message...it was some of his wordage that I used, so thanks man...

  1. Early on I mention another Dan, one who is a minister at our church, but it is later when I am acknowledging our blogging friend from Canada...sorry for any confusion...I repent (you'll get that later if you listen...)

  4. Hey congratulations on the book. I was looking over old comments on my blog and came across some you had left. Glad to see you're doing well still!

  5. You sound good JD.

Do you like to hear yourself on tape? My pastor, Greg Dutcher said he doesn't really like listening to himself.
Just wondering. Don't mean to be nosey.

  7. Don, I used to not like it, but now I am more used to it...I still don't like how I make verbal miscues or slips or talk too fast and things like that, and some things I say do not transfer to audio very well, as I may be making facial gestures, or using my hands, or perhaps making statements that are specific to our church, but overall, I think I am starting to really enjoy hearing myself proclaim God's Word with authority, and I do listen to my stuff again, as I pick up some things I didn't necessariy realize I had said, or pointed out, etc....

  8. For example, the "war" ilustration I used in this sermon is something I did sort of on the spot, and I really liked it, and intend on using it again...that sort of thing happens to me almost every sermon, I study many, many hours, and have a full manuscript ready, and we do follow it, reading every word usually, but we always add to it as we go, and so I listen, and rewrite for publication...

  9. I can't seem to download it from where I am. I will try again later.

  13. There goes that same spammer again, but (he, she, or it) is the only one, so we aren't going to turn on the word verification yet, but perhaps we will need to, I know most everyone else already does, and it is an extra step, but not too difficult after you learn how its done...

  14. As I was writing that last comment, the same thing happened, so the word verification is going on...
